Work in our new Church!
Now that we are in our own wonderful Church there is actually a lot more for each of us to do than when we were at Galloway Hall where the cleaning and maintenance were not our responsibility.
So, if you have a few hours available to help, do contact Gregory Baker on 01772 466486 or Fr Christodoulos/Presbytera Mary on 01257 421521.  Friday or Saturday are good days for cleaning toilets, kitchen and hall ready for Sunday.  This is especially important due to the dust whilst conversion work carries on in the church.
It is also important to remember that having our own church bears a financial responsibility as well.  We were only able to purchase it through the selfless giving of a number of people from our church and friends from elsewhere.  We also needed to accept loans and a mortgage that must be paid back.  If you have not already done so already please prayerfully consider how you might help in this wonderful new journey.  Every person’s gift or monthly banker’s order for the church is vitally important and please do not forget, if you are a taxpayer, to complete a Gift Aid form or envelope.  Gregory will be delighted to hear from you.

Our Welcome Day, Saturday 22nd September
This was a great success.  Five priests and two deacons concelebrated at the Holy Liturgy, with almost 100 folk from near and far.  Thank you to everyone who was able to be present.  You made the day for us!  If you missed it, you will be able to see some photos of the celebration in Church soon.
Thank you, too, to all those who cleaned, prepared and served lunch, and tidied up afterwards.
Fr Stephen spoke of the story of the Community from its beginning in 1987 until the present joyful purchase of the new Church in Leyland.  We are indebted to Fr Stephen and Presbytera Catherine’s hard work in helping with the establishing of this Orthodox Community.

Pilgrimage to Holywell
Have you remembered to keep Saturday 6th October free for the annual pilgrimage to Holywell, in North Wales?  This year it will be led by His Eminence Archbishop Gregorios.
The Holy Liturgy will be served at 11.00am, followed by Blessing of the healing waters at St Winifred’s Well and the veneration of her holy relics.  We return to the chapel for a picnic lunch.  Then there is time to have a look around, fill your bottles with holy water as well as to get to know our brothers and sisters in Christ from around the country.  Finally Vespers (Espirinos) will be served in the beautiful chapel above the holy well.
At some point in the day the sun always shines through the coloured glass, lighting up the holy icons.  It is not a day to be missed.  Remember to wear warm clothes, bring a bottle for holy water, a picnic and drink, and a chair maybe if you need one.

Every Blessing to all of you.
Fr Christodoulos
